A Day in My Life, 'On a Monday'
Today I realize not all day is worth documenting. Some days just needs to be experienced and forgotten. I woke up reading the book of Job 1 vs. 13-12 and it shows the importance of having a close relationship with God. It opens door to knowing who God is, knowing how he works, trusting him and loving him the more. When this happens, it controls our reaction to situations. Just like in Job situation, his reaction to his situation at that moment is shocking, I mean, we all know what we would have done, especially now that the country is in this unbearable state. (Read the whole of chapter 1 of the book of Job for more clarity)🤎✨
I usually love and enjoy watching Korean dramas but as it is Monday, I get to watch none as no Korean dramas I watch air on Mondays. My weekly Korean dramas start from Wednesday to Sunday and new Korean dramas will be airing this week too, so I’m really excited. At the end of this letter, I’d list the ongoing Korean dramas I’m currently watching and the ones to air this month (that I’m anticipating) for those who are interested. Although I managed to rewatch an old Korean drama titled ‘Bad and Crazy’ and this time I learnt that alter ego and split personality are two different terms.
If you’ve watched ‘Bad and Crazy’, I think you’d relate well. The first time I watched this drama, I had thought the guy had a split personality but watching it the second time, I really paid attention to the part where he introduced ‘K’ (his alter ego) to his friends. Then it hit me and I was like okay, what’s an alter ego? What’s a split personality? I’ve heard this terms but I really didn’t know their meaning deeply. I had thought they were the same thing and ‘K’ was his other personality and not an alter ego. Or I’m I getting it twisted? I googled the differences and asked a friend too and I guess, the confusion was cleared and now I clearly know what they both meant. (You learn every day).
Watching Korean dramas for me is not just about the entertainment or aesthetics. I remember watching ‘’Doctor John’’, and God knows, I’ve never heard or known there was anything called ‘Congenital Insensitivity to pain with Anhidrosis(CIPA)’- you can’t feel pain and ‘Complex Regional Pain Syndrome(CRPS)- you can feel the slightest pain possible(sensitive to pain). I really enjoyed watching it and even enjoyed it the more because I was inquisitive and was opened to knowing more.
Waking up from siesta, I planned on making noodles and record myself while eating. I told myself that I was going to be intentional about documenting any slightest thing I’m moved to document. I’ve seen on the internet how people talk about romanticizing their life and I tell you, its self-love and peace. You can do that in many possible ways. Google says ‘romanticizing your life’ is a form of mindfulness. – ‘It’s about being aware of what’s happening around you without attaching any judgment to it and accepting as they are’. There are lots of things that happen in our lives that we can’t control and instead of trying to control what we can’t, we should take our time and really appreciate what’s right in front of us. Some situations can be a blessing, if we decide to look at the bright side.
The rest of the day was pretty for rest and I really hope tomorrow is a better day than today was.
