A Day of a Bad Soup
Cheers to my first official newsletter post guys!!!🎉I actually feel anxious writing this but it is what is, you know.
If you’re here for the first time, welcome! I’m glad you’re reading this and I hope you enjoy reading.
So, I woke up today having a feeling the day was going to be stressful and not so good. I had woken up a little bit, just a little bit relieved of my legs feeling weak and I obviously didn’t have a goodnight sleep. I had myself rolling from side to side. It was not nice, guys and that was the result of walking a lot.
When I thought I was feeling okay, my upper stomach started to ache as well. Omo, I wanted go nuts. Plus, I was preparing to go school. Luckily for me, my classes got cancelled but I still had some important things to do and I wanted to be early and fast about it.
I was dressed up and decided to eat cucumber on an empty stomach, empty stomach! Never again! I was just using the toilet anyhow. That was how one very early morning, I went to eat banana on an empty stomach too. I got to learn eating banana on an empty stomach isn’t good. Apparently, that’s what resulted to my stomach ache.
On my way to school, I entered this keke and the other passenger’s destination was a lot far and different from where I was going, so I just told the driver to just drop me in a place closer to my destination and I can’t believe when he dropped me, he refuse to collect money. He told me not to worry, since he didn’t drive me to my destination. The money was little, yh, but it did mean a lot. If it were to be other people, no matter how short the distant, they’ll still collect their money. I was so excited and thanked God. God is just too good. You don’t always get to experience that every day.
I had done half of what I planned to do in school but decided to wait a little bit more, being productive. School isn’t easy guys. I’m not even going to lie. If you can relate, you’d understand what I mean. Every day becomes tired for you. Lack of sleep. Lack of rest. Body pain. Sickness. Headaches. Constant hunger. Spending more, receiving less. I can’t even mention all the things one has to face being a student. You guys, all I have to say is ko ni re wa (we wouldn’t get tired).
I had wanted swallow(semo preferably), so I went out to get some few ingredients for making the soup. It was ogbono, guys. I got back to the hostel wanting to cook and just eat, because I was so hungry. Unfortunately, there wasn’t light. I was so upset. As soon as the light was brought back, I hurriedly make the soup and swallow, thinking it was going to taste so good and I was going to enjoy it. Tell me why, the ogbono had lumps in it. I lost appetite but had to force myself to eat half of the semo. I was so upset with myself. I was wondering how lumps managed to appear because it wasn’t my first time making ogbono and that had never happened. I didn’t even know what to do and certainly didn’t want to waste it.
As soon as I done, next thing I did was Google the cause of ogbono having lumps after being cooked. So, I found out it was because the water was too hot when I had poured it and the way I could remove it was by sieving it. I didn’t even care if the sieving was before or after cooking. I just had to do one. I was able to sieve the lumps away and thankfully, I could save quite some portion. This was all because I was in a hurry to eat and had not taken my time to make it well. It wasn’t that an exhausted day but making a bad soup made it one. But of course, it’s a day to remember.
I hope tomorrow will be a better day than today.

Chef Milla! 😂
